About Me

I am married to one of the most compassionate men I have ever met. He really cares about less fortunate people. We do not have any children. He has 2 from his first marriage. Me, no children, just a few nieces & nephews. I decided children were not for me, after baby sitting my sisters kids. We have 2 cats, male and female and both fixed.

I'd like to meet:

People from all walks of life. But mostly people who are caring and considerate of others...like my husband. People who are on the journey of self discovery really interest me, most.

Activities:

Astrological studies and research. Volunteering at shelters for animals. Visiting old folks in hospitals and reading to them, when I can find some free time.

Interests:

People are...who I am most interested in and through Astrology, I can learn about them, their most deepest feelings unfold to me like a flower saying "hello" to the sun. However, when I am not researching people, I like to go camping and fishing, skiing, horseback riding, art, photography, meeting compassionate people or working in my garden. I like figuring out how things work and I like to fix things, including people. I like sci-fi movies and series. I like to volunteer at animal shelters or foster out animals.

Favorite Music:

Easy listening, light rock, light country.

Favorite TV Shows:

Stargate Atlantis, X-Files, CSI, Supernatural, Smallville, Dr. Who, Without a Trace, Two and Half Men

Favorite Movies:

Somewhere In Time, A Walk To Remember, West Side Story, Alien, Aliens, Star Wars, Lost Horizon, Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1969 version of Romeo & Juliet, ET, Close Encounters of a Third Kind.

Favorite Books:

The Prophet, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Notes to Myself, Stranger in a Strange Land, Secrets from a StarGazer's Notebook, Chinese Astrology by Susanne White and many other astrological works.

Favorite Quotes:

To Be or Not To Be, That IS The Question?

True friends are like, diamonds...precious and rare.
False Friends are like autumn leaves...found everywhere.

Remember, life is about the journey and hot just the destination!

Favorite Heroes:

Our soldiers fighting for our freedom, firefighters, shore patrol, rangers, policeman who keep us honest.

  • Thank you for that beautiful picture. It was nice of him to apoligize. It seems like the Obamanites are all trying to make nice now that McCain is catching up to him in the polls. That still is not going to make me change my vote. I have never personally attacked them, but if they attack me, I just block them. I don't take the abuse.

I hope your knee gets better without surgery. Being cut open is no fun. I have had enough of that after my spinal fusion surgery this past February. I am still going to theraphy. Doctors said to give it 1 -1 1/2 years.

Rachael has been going to theraphy too. That and the ice packs are helping her.

Take care of your knee. Do you find going up and down stairs painful?

  • Good for cheering Angie on. I believe Planteater is a paid Obama blogger judging from his profile.
Thank you for letting me know about Angie. I do converse with her. Keep me informed. I will reply to her profile. All the argument with the Obama paid bloggers are not worth it. I ignore them.

How did you injure your knee? Rachael has theraphy and has to rest it. She will not be doing much breast stroke this season to rest her knee. It is good that she does well in all here strokes.

    Take care.

  • That was beautiful. Hope you are doing well and enjoying what is left of summer. It will be gone before we know it. Tuesday can't get here fast enough. I will finally be able to be on more often.
I have been taking Rachael to theraphy. She has a knee injury from overuse doing the breaststroke. She could not do cross country this season. It is slowly getting better, but I have to keep after her to do her condidtioning and theraphy at home. The last 3 days, the temperature has been 90 degrees and muggy. I found work to do inside. One can always find work around the house. It is like a money pit.

  • Hi! I hope you are doing well. Are you finding time to relax now? Your pictures of your vacation are beautiful.

Things have been really busy the last 3 weeks with Rach and her swimiming. One weekend it was the USA Champs, then the last weekend it was Suburban League Champs. Now she is in Indianapolis for 5 days for the Central Mega Zone. This is the first time we have been apart for more than 1 day. On the way to the drop off, she was having doubts about going. She is now having fun. I watch the events on live internet feed, but the girls all look alike with their caps and Speedo FSII suits. We pick her up at the bus drop off at 2 AM on Monday.

We have had severe storms these past few days. The wind blew a big tree down in our back yard. There went our back yard shade. Luck was with us. We did not have any damage. storms days wind blew tree yard yard shade luck damage

  • Thank you Pet... I know how important it s to stop and smell the roses... because they fade and disappear... to acknowledge people and thngs... and let them know how important they are in their life... and mine...

I think you see and hear things... which many miss....

Very well Grasshopper.... I bow to all that is you... fade disappear acknowledge people thngs important life hear grasshopper bow

  • Thank you Pet for all of your wonderful comments.

I hardly feel that I deserve them, but I am truely grateful if you see any of this in me. I do try to treat people as I wish to be treated, but sometimes things go amuck.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

  • Ah... I see you found the sands of time.... I wonder where I left them.....

I do not know if I am wise... but I know I answer with what I think and feel inside...

    Thank you for the compliment!

Yes... the sun is killing me... forcing me to go into the deeper shadows....

  • Your a cat lover too!. I have 4 indoor cats. They are afraid of the door. They are even afraid of their own shadow. It is hot here this week. One week its chilly, the next it is hot. We have had some rainstorms that produced down pours. Thats good your cats do not wander. Our neighborhood cats wander to our front porch. They know cats live here. One of the outdoor cats and one of our protecters fight each other between the window. Our neighbors across the street went on vacation this week and left their two cats outside. No one is feeding them. We give them food if they make it to our front porch. Rach started her book. She read 20 of the 225 pages. What joy I am facing the next couple of weeks. LOL. Enjoy the rest of your summer in your yard. It won't be long before fall. Where did the summer go? Have fun.

  • You are as busy as the bees. Where do you get all the energy? Enjoy the rest of the summer enjoying your garden. It must be beautiful. One day, maybe I will get back to yard work. Again, this weekend it is another 3 day swim meet. Rach is only doing 2 days. It get tiring at the end of the season. Pretty soon we have 3 weeks off to rest before the fall season starts. I can't believe summer is almost over. Rach has to read a book about baseball for school. It is 225 pages. She has only read 20 because it is so boring. I see alot of "discussions" with her soon. Enjoy your weekend with some rest.

  • Thank you. All we can do is try to lead our children in the right direction, make sure they stay busy and out of trouble and hope they turn out right. We do know that her swim club commitment will help her in the long run. I think children who are in sports which require a lot of practice like gymnastics, ice skating and swimming seem to turn out better equiped to deal with life.

How does your garden grow? There is a store front in our neighborhood that has a front yard. The wild flowers and sunflowers are absolutely beautiful. What talent the owners have. It just leads you into the store. Your garden is your baby, and you sound like you are doing a fantastic job. Keep up with beautifying your yard.

    Have a blessed week.

  • Have a pleasant weekend.

  • Hi! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Things will finally slow down after next week. How is your garden coming. Ivy and strawberries are coming in naturally under all the maple trees. We are leaving tomorrow morning for 3 days. Another swim meet. I don't know if I will have computer access since its in the middle of Amish country. I will be so glad when school starts. LOL. Rach has had some good exposure in her swim meets this summer. A couple colleges close to home are interested in her. If it were not for her, life would be boring. Have a great weekend. swim meets summer couple colleges close home life boring weekend swim meets summer couple colleges close home life boring weekend

  • You sure are ambitious. Hope the weather holds out for your deck staining. We always look for the easy way out since we are never home. Hope you had a beautiful holiday. Ours was spent in the same place as usual. Rach had swim practice on the 4th and a meet on the 5th. No weekends off. We are tied to the TV and computer watching the olympic trials. A member of her club is in the trials for the 50 free.
