Those that wear a noose today put the noose around their own neck. It just shows how prejudice from one generation can be abused by the next generation as well, if we don't stop it. Those who put the nooses up cannot accept change and are afraid of it. The noose is a symbol of their ignorance. Those that put it up there got the response they were seeking. Fear and anger.

Part of the opportunity to change is to not dwell in the past, but learn from it. When we stop separating ourselves by color and race and get rid of organizations that continue to keep us separate - dividing blacks from whites or foreigners from learning and accepting the American way when living here, only then can we consider ourselfs as equals. As long as we keep dividing ourselves, the anger and fear will never go away. If I were to live in Greece, Italy, Japan or Germany - would I not have to abide by their way of life?

There is a saying, if you do not like the way you were born, take it up with your maker. The rest of the world had nothing to do with it. The person you were born to be is totally God's doing. Even your parents can't be held responsible. Deal with it and get on with life.

After many years of examples, why haven't we gotten the message. Why must we blame others for our misfortunes and downfalls. The past can't be changed, but the future can. If you don't want to be stereo typed, break away from the cycle. Dress differently, educate yourself, choose your company wisely and don't give into the "norm". Strive to be better.

There will always be the narrow minded who cannot see the forest through the trees. Don't even try with them, save your energy, just let them be and move on. There are many others out there who can.

Also, there will always be those who are given the privilege of authority and will abuse it, but not everyone does. Don't let this drag you down - their day will come. I am a firm believer of what goes around comes around.
