About Me
I prefer animals to people, by far. I work my ass off to provide for my family and do not appreciate the government or other people trying to tell me how to live. I can't stand people who lack the guts to tell you how they feel to your face, but will say all kinds of things behind your back. Superficial and shallow people also make me ill, as do people who spout off like experts without ever doing the work to actually learn about a subject first. I love to be alone and have spent many months alone in the wilderness.....of course, that was before I got married. Now I love to be alone with my wife, and our dogs, at our mountain home. I spent fifteen months in Baghdad working with the Iraqi people, and I found them to be far better people as a whole than most Americans, who are spoiled rotten brats who do not seem to appreciate what they have. We are also very active in trying to preserve what few pristine places still exist on this planet, and I absolutely cannot stand fashion statement liberals who think wearing sandals, spraying themselves with Patchouli scent, talking about 'postive energy', changing a few light bulbs, and Putting Ralph Nader for Preseident bumper stickers on their cars makes them environmental activists, or even good people. The environmental activist is not the person who says the creek is dirty, the environmental activist is the person who cleans it up. So put up or shut the hell up. Oh, and I am a conservative Republican, go figure.
I'd like to meet:
Albert Einstein, Socrates, Daniel Defoe, Benjamin Frankiln, John Muir, Leonard Sepala, Leonardo DaVinci.
Activities:
Work, Husky Rescue, Work, saving our canyon from development, Work, loving my wife, Work, trying to be a Good person, Work.
Interests:
Philosophy (which was my major in college), Astronomy, Literature, Backpacking, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Siberian Husky Rescue, My lovely wife Carla, World History and current events, having the world leave us the hell alone on our thirty acres in the mountains, simple living, the environment and preserving our children's heritage.
Favorite Music:
John Denver, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Bach, especially the piano concertos, Ian Tyson
Favorite TV Shows:
Judge Judy, Modern Marvels, Extreme Engineering, The Amazing race, most anything on the History and Science channels, and NASCAR racing.
Favorite Movies:
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...the orginal, not that Johnny Depp crap that takes out all of the meaning of the story, like society today.
The Razor's Edge, because it is one of very few films that actually follows the book and gets the point across, and what a point it is.
A Clockwork Orange, for the same reason.
A Fish Called Wanda, because it is freakin hilarious

You and I differ in politics but share a passion for the environment. Not too many people recall that it was a Republican president who signed into law significant environmental regulations. But it should never have become a partisan issue. Good luck protecting your beautiful creek and the steelhead.
