you are correct but McCain is not going to win any beauty contest either half the republicans view him as below sub par and there is still the Ron Paul revolutionaries to contend with. No matter what people want to say about them there is still a significant movement. Please dont smash me on this give me a pass Boss until the July 12 march!!!lol Then there is going to be the september blast at the convention and this could also prove detrimental to McCain "if" the economy tanks even farther for this I must state is Ron Paul Platform and people will be looking for shelter.and possibly scared of both candidates running for potus. If you notice the media is starting to pick up on Ron more and more especially on economy news. I am not saying that the republicans are going to change their minds and swing to Ron, i am just stating the obvious transitions of the past two months of continueing stock declines and sinking dollars worth.
