I wouldn't call it "inconvenience" when people starve and die. We have to weigh the costs and benefits and not overreact. Changing fuels to corn-based ethanol raised the price of food so high that it could (and may have) lead to some deaths in poverty stricken countries. Eliminating DDT from usage (not Global Warming related, but an example of overreaction) has lead to the deaths of millions of Africans because of malaria and mosquito borne diseases that DDT could have prevented.
