As a drummer, I can't take the side of another instrument. However, I do like the bass too. Drums and bass give the song rhythm and depth. Without them, the song is not a song, but rather a flat screech that hurts my ears. Who's this guy? Only one of the greatest drummers I've ever seen live on stage: Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen of Nightwish. The guy makes Lars Ulrich seem like a slowpoke when playing live.
