It wasn't her place to give the dog away. I volunteer at our area animal shelter and even WE let people know if it doesn't work out we want the dog returned to us. We want to make sure the animal ends up happy, not in some shelter with 5 days to live. People who do rescue sincerely care about the animals and want what's best for them - it wasn't up to Ellen to decide that, especially signing the contract saying she would return the dog to the group. And spending $3000 is b-s. Neutering costs a couple hundred bucks. What rip off place did she go to for training??? And another thing - it was WRONG for her to weepily drag this into her show and her producers were right to close her down for a couple of days. Before I thought she was okay - now she's a jerk as far as I'm concerned.

News reports say Ellen DeGeneres has adopted and then given away dogs 9 times before. Does this change your opinion of her?

Nope. I have always thought she was wrong to give away the dog.

Roseanne was right - she treats those poor dogs like she picked up a chair at tag sale and decided she didn't like it. Those are living creatures with feelings!!! She's the poster child of people who SHOULDNT own pets!!!
