What group were you in in highschool?

    370 529
    The stoners
but not the stupid dropout ones, the smart ones. i'm one of those nerds that's smart enough that school comes really easily to me, so i always did well, but also cool enough not to waste my life taking impossible classes that give me 5 hours of homework a night. i know how to have a good time.

    Undecided
i think it is a bit of all of them. many religious fanatics take offense when people don't believe as they do. they consider it blasphemy or something of that nature. it's stupid really. religion is all a big mindfuck if you ask me.

Are public school teachers in America paid what they are worth?

    662 588
    No, teachers are way underpaid.
the amount of bullshit teachers have to put up with, either from parents or students, gets worse every year. i have seen some absolutely outrageous things happen in the classroom. things that today's adults could not even conceive of happening when they were in school. if you've been out of high school for a few years, you'd be absolutely appalled. teachers deserve so much more than what they make for dealing with these little hellions.

Why is murder and violence justifiable for so many people (as victims or parents of victims of crimes), when the law should and is there for everyone?

    Please comment
I think it is an issue of control. when someone is viciously attacked and/or raped, they feel as though their attacker has taken control of their life by instilling in them the constant fear that they are still out there. yes they may be "brought to justice" legally, but it usually takes some time for rape victims to come forward, due to the controlling fear. during this time who knows how many other people the attacker can victimize? and if they are caught, they'll probably get a few years in jail, possibly get out early on parole. they certainly won't get the death penalty if they didn't commit murder. life in prison is also not likely. i just don't think anyone can truly know what they would do unless they've been in the situation.

    Yes, maybe, it depends
to a certain extent. for the most part they just have to know how to work it, but if it's teeny tiny, you can't do much with it. a few extra inches is always good though :)

If we are descended from apes, how come there are still apes? Why didn't they evolve as well?

If we are descended from apes, how come there are still apes? Why didn't they evolve as well?

    18 29
    Because.......(leave your reason)
we didn't exactly descend from the apes that exist today. we share a common ancestor with them. they just evolved differently than we did. the ancestor we share does not still exist as far as we know, but as we all know, we don't know anything.

There was one time not too long ago where i had a lot of stuff on my plate, nothing major, i was just working a lot and my schoolwork was piling up and i felt overwhelmed and i was stressing out really badly one day and out of nowhere i swear i heard my dad's voice say "don't worry pretty one, you're going to be fine. i'm so proud of you." i just broke down and cried. it was the craziest thing that ever happened to me.
