Should pregnant teens have to tell their parents that they are getting an abortion?

Should pregnant teens have to tell their parents that they are getting an abortion?

    1,931 1,782
    Yes.
I am pro choice, but that doesn't mean I am for using abortion as birth control. Children need guidance, and support no matter what choice they make. I think that it is vital that the parent know what is going on in the childs life for numerous reasons. 1. If the child does have the abortion she is going to need emotional support. I speak from experience. It's a very hard thing to go through no matter the circumstances that got you pregnant. 2. If something were to happen, medically and the parents don't know that could be very dangerous for the child. 3. Children are still learning, still growing, still figuring out their lives...they make their own choices but need help from parents. 4. I feel like if a girl knew she didn't have to tell her parents it would be used as birth control. now saying that I DO NOT think that it should be the parents choice whether the girl gets an abortion or not. I think it's vital the parents HELP her know all there is to know before making that choice. but in no way should it be the parents choice. I think that it should be a requirement that she has to tell her parents, not to get punished but to have someone there for her.

Big or little I feel like revealing clothing isn't appropriate. The picture used is not appropriate for anything. I am a big girl, but I get disgusted when a larger woman comes in wearing clothing that isn't flattering to her body type. But it's the same with small women. Everyone should wear clothing that is flattering to their body type. Big or not.

Yes its fair. It is not the lenders' fault that McMahon lost his income.
If he wasn't famous we wouldn't even care about this. He owes money, he's not paying it...not that complicated.

Sad, but she didnt make the credits....
At the risk of having all of you sending me hate mail I'm going to have to agree with the principal. It is horrible that she got cancer, and I applaud her strength to survive, but she didn't get the right amount of credits. Walking across the stage at graduation and getting your diploma is saying that you completed all you needed to and have graduated, she didn't do that. I sympathize with her but her asking the principal to "just bend the rules a little bit" is not something that is justified. Not to mention unfair to those who worked to get the privilege of walking across the stage. Even if she did her classes over the summer, there's no guarantee she would pass them. I do think that there should be something mentioned about her at the graduation, acknowledging her hard work and courage during that tough time. I think denying that is cold hearted and sending the wrong message to the community.

Yes, I will admit I get a little excited when I see the lights flashing. I always wonder what they did, or what happened. I am a self admitted ambulance chaser, think of me what you'd like. I don't necessarily enjoy the fact that someone may be hurt but more the excitement of seeing people being rescued, and finding out what happened. Some people call it just being nosy :)

This is an interesting story. My only question is how do you live in a household with your parents and hide a pregnancy? It's sad that some parents are so out of touch with their own children they don't notice monumental changes in them. As for this girl, thank god she knew what to do, for both the baby and her own sake.

    Her Parents
I think it's ridiculous to say that Vanity Fair or the photographer are responsible for this. She went to the photo shoot, and she posed for the pictures. Not exactly sure what she thought the sheet wrapped around her body was going to turn out looking like but I would assume someone from her camp had an idea. Plus reports are saying that her parents were there the whole time, her dad even posed with her. All that's going on is a quick scramble to clean up a mess they caused, the reaction to the pictures obviously wasn't what they were expecting and now they're trying to make it seem as innocent as possible.

I think that's absolutely disgusting. I am pro choice but this is horrible. Number one you can't call this a miscarriage because she is forcing it, that is abortion. In my opinion this exhibit is a slap in the face to all those who support abortion. This is taking it to the extreme...it's disgusting. I can't believe that this is even being allowed to be shown.

What do you think of a company having this as a ceiling mural in a smoker's lounge?

    218 266
    None of the above
I think this is funny. I'm impressed they have a "smokers room" with a ceiling at all, most places you have to go outside to smoke. That's what my complaint would be not the ceiling painting but that there are people smoking inside. And before I get a whole bunch of nasty comments I myself am a smoker but I don't like the idea of a smoking lounge. I've actually never even heard of it. But to answer the question I think there's no harm in this painting, as a smoker it's not making me think twice about lighting up a cigarette. For those that are upset about it why? How is this insulting it's a known fact that smoking can kill you, it's not like they are just assuming. I think that the idea that if they have this moral they have to have one for the snack machine and elevator is a little extreme. Over reacting is something people love to do, and that's all this is. It's a painting if you don't like it smoke outside.

I think that keeping them away from each other is only going to make them more curious. What did you tell your child the reason was for no more sleepovers? I dont think there is an age limit, if you supervise the children responsibly then you shouldn't have a problem.

Do they have the same record? Do either of them have prior offenses. I am so tired of people crying foul before doing the research. If this was a first offense for both and it was indeed just a minor push then I agree that punishment was unjust. But seeing as I haven't nor will I do the research I can't really have an opinion on it.

    No, not at all!!!
I personally don't care what people I don't know think about me. I don't know them and they don't know me well enough to have any kind of opinion of me. As for those who I am close with, I do care. My family and friends are my life and I care what their perception of me is. For thos who say they don't care at all they're lying. Everyone cares a little bit, if you didn't you wouldn't shower, you wouldn't get dressed in clean clothes, and you would be running around saying everything that popped into your mind.

I'm not sure if you know this but you don't sing the Pledge of Allegiance, and this isn't it. This is the National Anthem. If you're going to attack someone for not doing something at least get the offense right. As for where his hand is there are a lot of people who don't put their hand on their heart when the National Anthem is sang, I am one of them. I don't think that makes him any less patriotic or worthy of presidency than any of the other candidates.

I think it's fine. Let them be comfortable with their bodies and yours!
My mom used to walk around naked when my sisters and I were younger, my family was very open and still are to this day and I wouldn't want it any other way. I can say from experienece I wasn't harmed from seeing my mother naked, and neither were my sisters, I think that as long as it's not sexual and you teach your children the difference between you walking around naked and a stranger doing it, I think it's perfectly harmless. As for these people who tell you need to see a shrink, or that you're harming your children are just being ignorant. My mother doing that and showing that she was comfortable with her body helped me with my self image, it showed that I shouldn't be ashamed of what I have. Rock on with your naked self :)

Life in prison with no chance of parole
I'm torn on this. On one hand I believe in the death penalty because I believe they should receive the same fate they gave the person they killed, but on the other hand I think life in prison because death is the easy way out, giving them life with no parole means they will have to spend the rest of their life thinking about what they did with no chance of having a life of their own.
