It really does not matter! If the other nations of the world really care about us then why are they not mobilizing 10 to 12 combat brigades (about 40k boots on the ground) to aid in Afghanistan? So far the only increase since the election is Germany sending 1000 more in addition to the 1 combat brigade they have there now! WOW........BIG WhOOp! I remind everyone no-one has questioned the idea of going into Afghanistan to seek out Al Queda & stabiize that nation.

Lil.......What happened to the poll you put up of being gracious if Barack Obama was elected? I saw Sarah Palin being as governor of an extremely resource rich state offer a true willingness to work in her elected capacity with the new administration. Why is that not a reason to start to back off a bit and ask for cooperation with a fresh start? No wonder we have two year long elections so you can put up rediculis polls? This is not a competition! It is a Nation that needs all of us to focus on change that benefits us all. I think you are at the point of beyond what a recent poll you put up urged Obama supporters NOT to do! I would enjoy something a bit more inciteful than you usual trite answer! Let's remember You were so sure Hilary was going to win! Well only goes to show ya we are not always right!

I think her obvious responsbility is to her lovely daughters! It seems that overall 1st Ladys have excelled in that job and judging what I have seen so far Michelle Obama seems up to that task. I think she should silently support her husband & to a degree step back from political influence. We need to remember Michelle Obama has been elected by the people to no political office a point that seemed to be lost on Hilary Clinton (although I give her high grades as a mother). I hope she will take a philantropic cause that affects a broad range of Americans and use the infuence to foster a worthy cause. This has been done so well by other former 1st. Ladies.

So? Oprah owns a home in Santa Barbara she paid 55 million for! Barbara Streisands home in Malibu I have seen & is probably worth more! Sean Penn just flew to Venezuela in a Grumman Gulf Stream IV! David Letterman owns 1/2 an Indy Car Race Team (An engine costs 150k and you need @ least three to be competitive, the Team has 3 cars which cost even more). The Kennedys own @ least 150 mil in property! Mark Cuban owns a Basketball Team! The Clintons have made well over 100mil since they left the Whit House! So the point is? This is ONE of Oprahs Homes!

And......there seems to be more to the story than just that! Do we drop the name Kennedy from the international airport on Long Island or the event hall in Washington DC because it is common knowledge he had an affair with Marilyn Monroe? It may be an opportunity to teach young children of all races how things were? It may also be that the entire community should be included in the eventual decision wether the name stays or is changed This school board is there to serve them not the other way around! If anything this issue shows real history is more complex than it appears and that it always has more to the story! But in that is not the lessons in history to show the thoughts & feeling of the time in which they happened? Those lessons need to show the good & bad in the context of the time in which they happened! Otherwise those lessons do not lead to the right kind of progress for us all! I don't think the answer here is a simple one but I see many intuative answers and some maybe to simplistic.

During this last election I have come to the conclusion that I am fast becoming a Libritarian! I cannot for the life of me see why government assets are in anyway used to elect any parties candidate? Somehow this is what we buy into? Makes NO sense! All I really want from federal government is sound laws that benefit all, secure borders, an enlightened foreign policy, an ability to more than adequately defend the nation, true infrastructure that allows business to be competitve in a global market. Instead what I seem to be faced with is a far right telling me I need to be scared & a far left telling me I cannot handle my own affairs!

Actually, I have no children. But if I did that display of what goes on in a what I hope is not a typical classroom is very disturbing! The teacher says she is against browbeating but clearly does exactly that to the poor impressionable girl whos parents are in the military! Totally uncalled for & it is clear the girl is upset with a statement taken out of context! This is way beyond any teachers mandate! Good luck to those of you with children in school & are subjected to that type of behavior no matter what you politics are!
