Catholic Priest Says Obama Voters Should Repent: Is voting for Obama a sin?

    110 275
No. Voting for Obama is NOT a sin!
I'm not Catholic but I grew up in church and one thing that is consistant with Christians and Catholics is that they are pro-life. I am as well but I don't believe that this one thing I disagree with Obama over was enough to throw my vote out to McCain. Ps. Obama is not the most liberal pro-choice politian. Check out Obama's response to an abortion question during the 3rd debate with McCain. It puts more emphasis on prevention than termination. By the priest's words, you'd think Obama was out to make a law to force every woman to have an abortion at least once in life, you know for the experience!

Funny how no one admits to #3!!! And out of 86 people, someone is lying since 1 out of every 4 people had/have/will have a STI or have a STD. Um, by the way, I'm guilty of 2, 4, 8, 11. I think I can safely say no to #3. 1 partner in my life and I'm married. If ever get anything, someone's gonna get murdered and I'm goin to jail!

Unfortunately, Republicans are not the only ones she'd need to win. Republicans only make up 31% of the electorate. She needs to do more than win over Repubs. She's need Independents who weren't very fond of her. Dems don't really like her so they are pointless to pursue, I can't think of any Dems who were as crazy about her as her own supporters.

Wow, this is a lie. This was a comment taken out of Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope" which was after his 1st meeting with Bush in 2004 after he was elected to the Senate. This book came out about last year. You're so full of crap. Come on Obama supporters, this should've called this out way before now, why don't you stay on top of this stuff.

this is so freakin amazing! to the top comment, i have done my research and if you really believe that John McCain and Sarah Stupid would have done this country any good, then you're just as misinformed as many of the other McCain supporters. This is a man who bragged back in January that he voted with Bush 90% of the time to a host of cameras. With our economy the way it is, we needed change not more of the same. And Obama's economic plan has been called better by many newspapers across America. I have researched it and McCain was saying change, but he was just calling the same thing something different. You can put lipstick on a pig....

Many blacks have said that they voted for obama because he is black. The media did not make any comments on these statement. If a white person had said he voted for McCain because he is white would the media have called him a racist?

    7 6
    Yes, without any doubt
Yes, but its a slightly flawed question. For blacks, its not just his skin color, it's what this means. Lets not forget that while that pushed us to stay in lines at the polls, 88% of the voting blacks in 2004 voted Democratic. In 2000 it was 89%. We voted 95% Democrat this year. Not a huge increase because we were already strong Dems. 3% of the Dem voters in 2004 were black. 6% of Obama's 52% were black. The point? Don't give us all the credit! Anyway, many blacks, including myself never thought we'd have a chance to vote for an intelligent black nominee. He wasn't Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson (who we did not rally behind even though they are black and both ran for prez), he spoke to the mainstream, which appealed to us as well. We don't want to be just "black". Yes, that's what we are, but it's only one part of us, we are regular people who in many cases, mind our own business and go to work and school and lead fairly boring lives just like everyone else. So, I voted Obama, because of what he meant to me personally and because it was an easy choice going against McCain. For a white person, who has only ever seen white nominees, and has only ever seen people who look just like them rise to power, to say that they voted for McCain because he's white, is simply class supremacy. For us, its our first chance to elect a man who represents many of us in a positive light. If you don't understand what I'm saying, and you think its racist, then you obviously don't understand how blacks, especially the non-racist ones as myself feel to live in a country that we are told "you can be anything you want to be" but to know in your heart that an invisible ceiling is always there. Barack broke that ceiling and now millions of African American parents can tell their children "you REALLY can be anything you want to be".

This is untrue. Why are you making stuff up. Obama is smarter than making a television star with no political clout to offer a member of his cabinet. She is an admirer. As of today we are no longer McCain supporters and Obama supporters. We are Americans and America must come first. Let's get to work!
I still feel that he and the Republicans leaders did so much to damage America with their hateful, lying campaign. I think they've made it harder for their supporters to trust and respect Obama. Did you hear them booing at every mention of Obama's name while Obama's supporters applauded Obama's menion of McCain. Obama has been very Presidential in making sure that his supporters have always remained respectful while the GOP encouraged anger and outbursts. Only after the media began to blast him on it did McCain began to attempt to settle his crowds but it was too late, the damage was done. Its sad really because we do need to come together as a country and unite. "Not as red states or blue states. There is no real America, no fake America. No pro-America parts of the country, no anti-America parts of the country. Just the United States of America" (pulled from an Obama speech ;) ).

Okay, it's time we came together, no point in hating on greatness! Those desperate, all over the place nominees McCain and Miss Unqualified have spent the last month throwing all but the kitchen sink at Obama and they will probably end up losing really really big here. Take time to think about how ridiculous their claims have been, we've come really far as country and thats something we can all be proud of.

What's with all these excerpts of Rev. Wrights speeches? The reason this thing went away was because the whole sermon that was released showed that the comments "God damn America" was taken out of context. In fact, he was quoting someone else to make a point! For those of you who are interested in the whole truth, check out the video. For those of you who are satisfied believing and spreading half truths and straight out lies, continue on.

Has anyone encountered Racist Attitudes because they are white?

    165 483
    None of the above
I'm black and I was raised in a very mixed community. While I know I haven't treated whites any different because their skin, I know I've been discriminated against plenty of times. From being completely ignored to people assuming I'm on welfare (which my family has never been on). Once, a cop even asked me twice, who's car I was driving after pulling me over for going 5 miles over the speed limit. The car is mine but I guess it was too "nice" for a young black girl to be driving. The lesson to be learned? Of course whites are on the receiving on some racism, but so are we, and to a large extent, even more because we are outnumbered 1 to 6 in this country. Also, you cannot judge the attitudes of lower class blacks from rough and tough neighborhoods to explain all blacks. Many times, they are hurting and bitter because life gave them lemons and they don't have a squeezer to make lemonade, so they are frustrated. I understand that, it's not an excuse and we have to learn to do better and work harder, but please don't sit around and act like whites are the only victims.

You know what I'm noticing, alot of people who identified themselves as Repubs on other quizzes and blogs are answering this in support of JM! There you damn Repubs go again, lying to make it appear the Hillary supporters are going for JM. If Hill got about 50% of the votes in the primaries and Obama is now leading in polls, doesn't it make sense that not only does he have most of the Hill supporters plus most of the Independents? Oh and by the way, Gallup surveyed 150,106 Hillary supporters, 89% are voting for Obama. By the way, I'm a long time 100% Obama backer. Join the winning side while there's still time losers. I am sure that as long as GOP leaders don't cheat again, and don't get away with the suppression efforts already taking place in Fl, VA, and NC, we will be victorious in 3 days!

Celebs who end up with those kind of pictures of themselves are just careless and should pay more attention.
They shouldn't wear mini skirts and no draws far as i'm concerned. plus, i doubt they're too embarrased, they usually get caught more than once so they obviously aren't changing their behaviors to avoid 2nd or 3rd slip ups.

To the top comment. So a man who is half white and attributes everything positive about himself to his white grandmother is going to "get the white man back". BS! Yes, many blacks have identity issues with this country. For one, we were never given a fair start. Blacks are still attempting to recover from slavery which only ended 143 years (that's 2 generations) and it was not until 1954 that the Jim Crow laws allowing segregation and unfair disadvantages to blacks were overturned. Now, does that mean that we are all hateful and just waiting for our chance to get whites (more specifically you) back. Hell no! Sure racism plagues me every day but I don't let it make me bitter. I just know that some people will carry the ignorance that you do about blacks for their whole lives and I see that in my generation, we will have a different country. If I have to wait for you "old timers" to die off (yeah i know thats rude) to have a different America, I will gladly wait. O btw, can you record your expression when Obama is named the next president and post it on youtube. I love humor.

    Yes. I better be prepared.
I think it will but I believe he will able to settle most doubts about himself. Unfortunately, you can tell that these are low information voters by their responses. The one guy said he doesn't want his guns or his job taken away, and his taxes to go up. Well, #1, unless oil drillers in CO make more than $250,000, his taxes won't go up which Obama has drilled home 100s of times in rallies across America, in all 3 debates, and in numerous commercials and ads. #2, McCain votes to give tax breaks to companies who ship jobs overseas, making job losses more foreseeable, while Obama has voted to give tax breaks to companies who stay here in America. #3, Since when did Obama say anything about taking away guns??? He only mentioned that we need to keep illegal/unregistered guns off the street. If your gun is registered, you can keep it! Yes, the nation will be divided but leave it to Obama to know how to unite Americans. After the democratic nomination, no one thought Obama had a chance because the democratic party was split in two, those who supported Obama and those who supported Hillary. Now, Obama has a 10 point lead in the polls and a higher percent of dems support him than repubs supporting McCain (we still have to vote for him to win, lets not plan our parties yet). He will pull through this, I have every confidence that he the President who can make America a better country. If McCain wins, I can say without a doubt that I will be heartbroken.

1st, heres a couple of interesting videos. See McCain on Letterman? http://www.youtube.com/watch?... http://www.youtube.com/watch?... (watch toward the end, it gets real good in the last 2 minutes) Know the truth behind McCain's 1st wife? http://www.tilt-o-rama.com/El... Before I start, just know that I am winking and through this comment to appear more "folksy". Now, I'm a democrat and a strong Obama supporter. You betcha! I don't hate her because of the things she's caused people to believe about Obama, but that she has the imagination to ask "Who is the real Barack Obama". B**ch, we've been gettin to know him for 2 years, who are you!". No one knew who you were prior to 6 weeks ago and we are finding out new crap about you each day! Talking about real Americans?!! Her husband was part of an Alaskan independence party who wanted to rip one of the American stars off of the flag and make Alaska an independent nation. She did ads for them as recent as last year in which she says she shares many of their goals and aspirations!!!! Now thats not a very joe-six pack, hockey mom kinda thing to do. She better hope they win (unlikely) because now, she may be out of a job as soon as next year for this ethics case (which, before you low information voters start critizing as a democratic effort is actually being led by 4 gops and 2 dems). *wink* If she does run in 2012(as some are suggesting she may), I hope the Republicans think long and hard about whether or not she can win an election as the front runner when she may have been the reason McCain is struggling so bad now. Her support doesn't go past her own party and with failure to capture that Independent vote (who her favorable rating is only 19% with) she'll easily win the nomination (only Rs voting) and get slaughtered in the general. You betcha! But hey, nominate her, it'll be an easy victory, no more of this nail biting crap. Normally I don't get into this ranting mood but it's disgusting that they are willing to smear the hell out a United States Senator with lies and unprecedented attacks! Again not very joe six pack of them. If you can't win on your own merit, you don't deserve to win at all. We need to be coming together, not allowing ourselves to be split down the middle by a cheating, no family values "maverick" and his clueless, unsubstantial running mate. Did I say that? This is so disturbing but not shocking. I hope he can remain safe. I fear that an Obama assassination would take us back 100 years as African Americans. Think post MJK shooting. It would be so hurtful. It's scary because this is the 3rd time police have arrested a group of white supremacists for this same plot. Some got as close to get inside the DNC. I hope these idiots can't produce a group with more brains than the few who have tried and failed before them. I agree with Panzer though, the only lives that may seriously be in danger are civilians caught in the cross fire because he is well protected.
