In Scotland we do exams called Standard Grades when we are 15/16 and my big tip for the writing exam is to read some Dickens or Gregory Maguire the night before the exam and pick out some eloquently fancy phrases to use. I wrote all my stories in a Dickensian style, it's so easy to do and I got the top grade.

If it is done by a qualified teacher, with a good curriculum and the child can have social interactions beyond the home then I'm fine with it. It can be a great thing for the right child under the right circumstances. However this is often not the case. Some parents insist on teaching their children despite being under-qualified to do so. Where I live this is perfectly legal but there is a reason for teaching courses and that reason is that not everyone has the ability and knowledge to teach. Sadly some parents also do not allow their children access to real education. I am talking, of course, about the fundamentalist Christians who teach only Creationism. You are well within your rights to teach Creationism at Church but please don't dress it up as science and force it on kids who don't know any better. Don't teach them the likes of this: Then there are kids who never see any other children. My cousin was home schooled for a year and he absolutely loathed it. I cannot describe how much contempt he had for 'school' and all because he didn't get a chance to discuss things with other kids or play with friends his own age. To be quite honest the child also makes all the difference. When I was little I used to finish my work ahead of the class because I liked learning and was content to quietly sit through breaks with a book so I think homeschooling would have suited me. On the other hand the cousin I mentioned loves to go out in the playground with all his friends and that was all that motivated him to go to school so it didn't suit him.

It got blown out of proportion, the day after the show they got only 2 complaints and they were both about Russ making fun of Jonathon Ross' speech impediment. After it was on the news they got about 40 000 complaints. Talk about a band wagon! The guys apologized and people don't seem to care that it was funny!

My cousins are 1 and they can't even say 'marry', I reckon they'd learn to say 'crazy' pretty fast if this was them. It's ridiculous, barbaric and plain wrong. And it is our business because this seems very much a violation of the rights of a child which are defined internationally. Can you imagine getting a school report card to give to your husband? Would it call you Mrs?

Jesus was a relatively common name back then and there was probably a preacher named Jesus. The rest of stuff about him was probably created to fit in with the Jewish prophecy and be more like other religions to make the transition easier.

Even if just to understand the references and be able to talk about it. It's an OK series, the second book is crap and the first one isn't great. The last book is awesome, though. I love Edward but the main character, Bella, is ungrateful, miserable and a bit of a Mary-Sue.

I went so I could see my friends and - I'll admit - because I was curious. It is horrible.

Stirling is a very nice place, the castle is amazing. Dunnottar castle, while smaller, is also worth a visit as it was in a movie and you can wander around unsupervised. And if you're in Edinburgh go to the Edinburgh Dungeons, they tell you a spooky history of the country, educational and fun as is the ghost walk. Have fun in Scotland!

I'm not sure I agree with this but not because I'm one of those bigoted morons who doesn't agree with same-sex marriage. I don't think that first graders should have political badges. They don't have their own opinions on complex issues like this. On the other hand the parents did give permission for them to go and it is good for them to learn about families different to their own - be it same-sex, divorced, lone parent or different religion - to teach them about tolerance and diversity.

I tried this cool new thing. Before you pray you go outside, get in your car and solve your own problems. It's really effective.

I have a younger brother and a younger sister. I think it might be kinda cool to have an older sibling or get a baby sibling now I'm old enough to know what's going on. But I do love things the way they are too.

Ultimately the man doesn't have to sacrifice his education, career, body, stability or his life to bring the baby into the world. He can just walk away. I think a man should have certain rights. For example if he didn't abuse the woman and she knows he's the father then he should be informed she is pregnant and be allowed to give his opinion even if the woman gets the veto. Legally, however, I think referendums on limits and the legality of abortion should be held only among women. It's easy to say nobody should get abortions if you know you'll never get pregnant.

And to think that just over 100 years ago even mature adults covered up table legs because they had a 'suggestive' shape. Now they're marketing a toy with a penis at 5 year olds. Oh well, that's a little weird but whatever. Live and let live and all that.

Be kinda cool though, god in all his bling listening to Rihanna. One thing about heaven I don't get is that surely everyone would have to be there for it to be heaven but there can be no heaven without hell. Let me explain. My mum's family is Christian and without me and my dad (atheists) heaven would not be heaven for them. So eventually everyone ends up there because they're needed to make heaven perfect for someone who loved them. Then sins and stuff don't count because everyone is in heaven regardless and people always say you can't have heaven without hell. Am I overthinking this?
