Actually, it's a No (I hit the wrong one....), but only because (while I agree now is the time to eliminate our dependence on everything foreign until we are completely self-sufficient) it is inevitable that we will run out of oil and have to seek another source of fuel anyway. The damage to the environment could be irreversible and the potential gain would be temporary at best and thus not worth the money we could spend on hydrogen fuel cells, etc.
