It looks funny, I'll see it
Answer Comment:
first of all im even surprised that there are groups protesting THAT aspect of the film, when im sure the naacp is curious as to why a white man would play the part of an african american man and implicate all the stereotypes associated with the particular culture. seriously, nothing in life is sacred anymore. its a free-for-all.

What is the greatest Gift you can give someone?

None of the above
Answer Comment:
that's tough because really all those things CAN be the greatest gift to ANY person though material possessions are more literal and i don't think they are as much appreciated if there's no meaning or story behind them. i think the greatest gift is another's company. that's all.

Is Heath Ledger's Joker performance Oscar worthy?

Answered:
yes
Answer Comment:
i understand that there has been significant hype in regards to the late heath ledger in his portrayal of the joker and frankly he lives up to it without effort. the joker is by far one of the most amazing comic book villains to be depicted in a movie with such uncompromisable flawless acting. ledger delivers in a way that makes you disregard that he is actually there. you dont see the actor... all you see is a psychotic knife-wielding clown that wants to watch the world fall into utter chaos. the joker is without doubt funny, but he is terrifyingly so. at times you arent sure whether you should be laughing or shuddering at the joke he has cracked and whether or not it is possible to be this disturbed yet charismatic. ledger is hauntingly chilling with his cackle and charming with his black humor and twist on popular catch phrases. as a whole, the character of the joker is fleshed out so that you have a back story to his psychotic ineptitude, but also that he is still very much a person to be reckoned with. maybe i am simply taken back by how ledger has created such a recognizable icon out of the joker or that i am just a fan-girl. regardless, i believe heath ledger produced a character that will be remembered for years to come.

Joker vs. Joker: Who Played the Better Joker in the Batman Movies?

Heath Ledger, the Joker
Answer Comment:
i believe its heath ledger, now before everyone brings out the torches and pitchforks... don't get me wrong, i think nicholson did it amazing, but ledger brings out a whole other side of the joker that is menacing and melancholic. where nicholson is "haha, i'm a clown i'm funny, but i will also shock you to death"... ledger is "haha...". that's it. there is no explanation as to why he IS. ledger's joker is just unexplainable. i also don't believe that ledger in anyway channeled nicholson's joker to create his version of the joker. ledger did something not many actors could pull off and be so "free", i suppose is the word, in regards to his acting. when i say "free" i mean, free of inhibitions and morals. sure there are actors who can do this just as well, but i dont think they would elicit the same reaction that ledger does when he is on screen. it's odd and weird and surreal, yet somehow it is truly an amazing feat that is accomplished with the role. ledger is disturbing and has taken the joker to a much more macabre territory that nicholson did not achieve with his joker. ledger delivers in a way that makes you disregard that he is actually there. you dont see the actor... all you see is a psychotic knife-wielding clown that wants to watch the world fall into utter chaos. and btw, i saw the holy shit premiere on wednesday so i CAN make a judgment on this.
