and said : I am glad you added 'lol', so we knew this out of context comment was a joke. There are people who take individual scriptures, strip them of their historical context and try to build their own theology around their error, but of course Christians do not think that women should remain silent, let alone do we believe they should remain aloof from political service. Palin on the other hand should not run for national office again because she has a fundamental ignorance of life beyond the borders of Alaska. Her understanding of life in Alaska may be quaint, but it is less than charming to consider someone with so little knowledge being in a position of power.

and said : I was attracted to my husband's intelligence and decency. After almost 35 years I can say that I have never been sorry for choosing based on meaningful characteristics. He's also attractive, but our relationship would not have survived the decades based on appearance or attraction.

and said : Signing the stimulus bill he wants the new congress to pass and have ready for him will be his first accomplishment. But as far as results go I don't think he will have the ability to work on one thing at a time and it seems he knows that. He will have to immediately start winding Iraq down, get moving on energy and environmental changes that will result in new jobs, get started on the healthcare system reforms that his transition team is already working on and that will also create more jobs in the healthcare sector now and in the future, start up his higher education stimulus, and the economy will be stimulated by all these efforts. Let's hope it all comes together as planned!

and said : Yes I believe that Obama will facilitate significant improvement in this situation. As urgent as the need is, I do not think it will be addressed right away. I know how horrible it is for people whose lives are impacted by the conflict, so I hate to say that delaying this issue for a time is necessary. But the situation has been ongoing for a very long time and it is extremely complicated. I think that Obama will have to deal with the Iraqi withdrawal and stabilization of both Iraq and Afghanistan before he earns the credibility to seriously address the issue. I hope that he can make some impact in his first term, but realistically if a solution is going to be realized under his leadership, it will be during his second term.

No, the United States was not founded as a Christian Nation
and said : As a Christian, I find this discussion very sad. The secular provisions of our constitution protect our rights to our faith and practice as well as the rights of others. Without those provisions we would be susceptible to the same corrupt historic battles over religious control of government and the lives of it's subjects that had such a corrupting influence on both governments and religions. When religion is about power it is corrupted. When there is a state religion it is not only the other persecuted religions that suffer, but the state religion whose tenets are compromised to conform to political agendas. The fact that there are so many people of faith in this country that seem to want to push this idea is a clear indication of the failure of our education system to adequately teach history to our young people evidently for generations. A state religion is not in the interest of people of faith or anyone else. Good article!

This is a rough year for many of us, but I am still thankful for .........!
and said : I am thankful for the true riches in my life all of whom are people I love and all the blessings I have received from my Lord. and said : I have been thinking about this idea, but I just have trouble thinking that he would accept it if he was asked. His legacy is written and I don't think that a stint in the senate would benefit it from his perspective. I do hope that they choose a replacement who will be very supportive of the president's efforts and the Clintons were both very helpful and supportive during the general election. We need people in the congress who will work with Obama to get our nation moving quickly. I will be interested to see what happens with this seat.
