You ask a tough question and I don't have THE answer but I do have some thoughts: If the friend's behavior is because of a one-time issue that she is currently dealing with; and, if her energy drain on you will end once she resolves that issue, and, if you consider her a real friend then I think you have to do whatever it takes to support her and help her through this. If her behaviour is just how she is, that is, if she is going to be doing this all the time then I think you two are not as compatible as perhaps you both first thought. You may need to change the relationship from one of friendship to one of acquaintanceship. She becomes someone you know, and maybe even like, but is not someone with whom you share the deep, emotional bond of true friend. And, that happens - it's nobody's fault, sometimes our emotional character just doesn't blend that well with the character of another!

Maybe you should tell him this
and said : Weeda, first let me say good for you (he has no idea yet how good it will be for him). Secondly, you are both adults so don't dance around with this. Find out when he next plans to visit his daughter at school. If it will be relatively soon, invite him to have a dinner with you during that visit (just you two, no daughter, yet). If he is in fact going to come back soon you can take that as a sign that he is interested in you. If he is not planning a visit then perhaps you both can meet somewhere in the middle for a dinner. You said he's 4 hours away I assume that's by car? If none of this can happen easily then be adult about it and find out if there is anything here to build on, I would do that by saying, next time you and he talk on the phone: "Joe, I really enjoyed your visit to the store and I'd like to see you again". See how he reacts to that, if he is open to it let him suggest where and when. Good luck Weeda. Hey Joe time to get off your ass!

The woman's place is in the kitchen, and the garage, and the corner office, and the warehouse, and the military, and the factory, and the house (as well as the senate), and driving the police car, and in the board room, and operating the cash register, and in the bedroom (sometimes on top, sometimes on bottom), and in the big office at City Hall. And, those are all his places too!

and said : Two hours with the wrong person is an eternity! There certainly are people who would make the two hours pass quickly, but I wouldn't take the chance that I'd get the wrong type. Or, perhaps I would be the wrong type for the stranger. At any rate it would be a long two hours. I enjoy my own company, I have an active imagination and I know several people I like thinking about. No problem being alone.

No. Circumcision should be left up to the parents. Do it while their young.
and said : I'm not going to address the medical sides of this debate, like many others here I'm not qualified to do so. I am male, I am circumcised and I'm glad. I have no sense of a loss of sensitivity - if the head of my penis was any more sensitive when hard I'd be climbing the walls. It is an easy matter of keeping clean. I think it looks a lot better, in my experience women prefer it cut. While I don't talk to a lot of men about their dicks, I don't believe I know any one who regrets having been circumcised! One Man's Opinion!

To me: British evokes order, culture, intellect and steadfastness; Australian: fun-loving, determined, reliable when having your back; Italian, if spoken by a woman (English with an Italian accent) is, to me, an invitation to bed - sorry I am a sexist with an imagination. So I guess my answer is Italian; Spanish is a very close second!

and said : Some here label MILF as a derogatory phrase. I see it as anything but. If you are an "M", and I say I'd like to "F" you - how can that be seen as anything but complementary. The "M" obviously has sex appeal and is attractive in the various ways one can be attractive! You don't hear anyone talking about the TBILF, I for one have no interest in "Teeny Boppers" A mature mind, in a woman's body is what causes the desire to "F". Nor is there a clamoring for BILF, I have never needed to "F" a "Bimbo" . While I have on occassion felt the need for a "HILF", at one time ot another we all have needed a "Hand" - after all it is right there (or left, depending on your proclivities)! But, I have never, ever been drawn to a DILF, unless we are talking about a "Dame", "Damsel" or "Dancer"

and said : If we are talking about the positive side of perversion - those habits, techniques, wants and desires that we all secretly love - then I think the genders are equally "inventive". If we are talking about the dark side - child molestation, sexual torture, abuse, rape - then unfortunately the men are dominate in that (I don't count the female teachers who screw their students; I don't need to hear from the Politically Correct set).

and said : I agree with you Axl, the time for that label has passed. I think it has passed for all nationalistic labels: Irish Americans; Italian Americans, Mexican Americans etc. Of course, African-American is pretty much the only term used to imply a race. When someone says "John is an African American", it is only because they don't want to say "John is Black". Funny but I'm white and I never gotten the sense that Black people really object to being called "Black", I never hear them referring to themselves as African Americans. Just this morning on the Don Imus show he was commenting as to how proud he was of this country electing Barack Obama (Imus supported McCain). He went on to say that "France would never elect an African-American", and "Germany wouldn't elect an African American" and, "Would Poland elect an African-American". Besides the fact that none of these countries would elect an American (of any color) to be their leader, it just points out the degree of political correctness that is prevalent. He can't bring himself to say Black when he's trying to be "racially-sensitive". Actually this brings up a good question: In France would a Black person be called an African-French; or in Germany an African-German. Finally, would the PC in an African Country refer to a black citizen as an African-African? Good Poll!

and said : Been there several times. We like Washington, we hope to rent an apt there for 6 or 7 weeks and do the town up right. Finding that block of time has been a chore, even though I can do much of my job from anywhere, with one or two visits a week to NYC. I think the Washington monument is majestic but, as someone else said, it suffers by being surrounded by so many other majestic monuments and buildings. As I said we love Washington. When the time comes we will be cremated and our ashes will be interred in Arlington!

and said : I've been married for 12 years. She is the last woman I will marry, she is also the first woman I married. I dated others before her, some for goodly length of time. This was all in my early to mid-20's; I'm not sure I had the common sense to be taking the long view. Physical attraction, personality compatibility and sexual compatibility were probably the only criteria in play at the time. But, I blindly, haphazardly, and without a clue hit the ball out of the park. I married a woman who is perfect. Smart, compassionate, funny, incredibly beautiful, not clingy or possessive, she is without a jealous bone in her body, she is cosmopolitan, witty and independent. I was totally in love with her on our wedding day, I love her no less today!
