and said : marriage contrary to "popular" culture and "popular" beliefs is not a "right" for either heterosexuals or homosexuals marriage is in fact a privilege and is licensed by the state as such - in fact the state regulates marriage licenses much the same way they do driver's licenses and we all know driver's licenses are issued as a privilege - we also all know we do not have a "right" to a driver's license and it may revoked or suspended for any number of infractions and violations the issue of the marriage license must remain a decision by the people and not activist judges, special interest groups or career politicians in imposing their desires and will on the masses through back door legislation or decisions from the bench liberals constantly proclaim how every vote counts, well perhaps they should have paid attention in the 04 elections where several states did in fact place initiatives on the ballot where the people voted on the issue and decided that the marriage license privilege should remain between a male and a female
