Seriously, though, there are hazards to large-scale consumption of human breast milk which aren't as prominent with milk from other species. Pathogens don't often jump the species barrier between man and other mammals, which (paradoxically) makes it safer to drink (say) cow's milk or goat milk than human milk. We know about the few pathogens that DO cross over from cattle to man and man to cattle (tuberculosis and brucellosis, for example) and have reliable methods for testing for them. Never mind that the "milch women" used for large-scale production of human breast milk would either have to be kept lactating "normally" - kept pregnant at regular intervals, in other words - or made to lactate by the use of hormones such as prolactin. In the second case, this would be much, much worse than BGH or other hormonal "fixes" now used to maintain weight and milk production in cattle. No, this is another crackpot idea courtesy of PETA. And it should go into the same round file where our used food winds up.

and said : Sorry I got here so late - but you're right. Obama and Tony Rezko is a much more damaging linkage than Obama and Ayers (not that we shouldn't continue to examine the links between Chicago Maoists and Communists and Obama - while Rezko is the key to Obama's dirty money, Ayers and Company are the keys to Obama's ideology). Even though he's been elected, we still need to put as much emphasis as possible on Obama's links to totalitarian ideology and corruption in order to make sure Congress has no possible excuse to put the power into this man's hands that he clearly seeks.

and said : Certainly, very few leaders in either dominant national party in this country are threats to win the Nobel in Physics. (We are, after all, a REPRESENTATIVE democracy... read some of these posts to understand why both parties persist in placing idiots in office.) But Hagel seems ready to pucker up and start chapping Barack Obama's ass. That remark about "87 percent of the American people" is flattering hogwash, for one thing. We don't even know how many of those votes were cast by real human beings, and we haven't expended adequate effort in finding out. Certainly, none of the care that was taken in Florida has been used in, say, Illinois (where the ballots were the exact same "butterfly" model used in Florida) to assure the integrity of the electoral process. For all the caterwauling the Left has done about Diebold electronic voting machines, no one there cares to talk about the way ACORN uses pen and paper wielded by drunks and felons to generate synthetic voter registrations referencing people who don't exist or who have not actually signed the forms bearing their names. In my opinion, we haven't got to the point where it's possible for Chuck Hagel or anyone else to talk about an "eighty seven percent majority" of the voters - or ANY majority, for that matter. I've also read the "Huffington Post" and been really amused at the intellectual posturing and lack of any real critical thought there. If there are geniuses in the Democratic Party, they aren't holding forth at Arianna Huffington's little party, that's for sure. Slate comes close, politico.com closer still, but most of the people in all three sites are in hopeless doctrinal lockstep with no attention to whether or not their idol of the moment (and when the Democratic Party holds primaries, it's impossible not to see the similarities with "American Idol"). Meanwhile, the Republican Party is finally reaping the benefits of their strategy of excluding as many people as they can from their own side. Happy now, guys? Fred Dalton Thompson was the candidate I thought showed the most promise - he's not just an actor, he's been a Senator and been active in Washington going back to the Watergate hearings. He also has real ideas, not just tropes he's swiped from other people. But Fred Thompson doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator, and he's not going to appeal to the dimwits who turn up when the major parties "turn out the vote." Shame. We're going to need more than sound bites and gripping oratory in a world defined by the increasing number of nuclear weapons owned by unstable countries, and by a rising tide of rule by corrupt leaders - and now corruption has taken over the ballot box here.

THEY have all told their congregations how to vote... and many more besides them. Why does the IRS only get involved when a European-American pastor is politically active from the pulpit? Having said that, Holick is a moron. And there's STILL no significant difference between him, Wright, Sharpton and Jackson... they are all politically-active, politically-extremist pastors. and said : The more I look at Barack Obama's backstory, the worse he looks - and the more biased, untruthful and duplicitous the self-described "mainstream media" (which is beginning to seem as unsuitable a term for them as "Pravda" ("truth" in Russian) was) come off as. I find it increasingly improbable that Barack Obama got either an electoral or a popular majority of the vote when fraudulent votes cast by nonexistent "voters" registered by ACORN are eliminated. Declaring a winner only a day after an election with as much open fraud as was shown to exist even by the biased, pro-Obama press strikes me as ludicrous. This election was a put-up job, a fake, a scam. The one thing it isn't is, I think, binding. Obama and his financial backers contracted with ACORN for massive fraudulent activity connected with the vote. If this activity is not thoroughly investigated and the voter fraud issue tackled once and for all, Americans will become increasingly - and rightfully - disillusioned with the sham elections which have occurred this year. If Congress and the Presidency are not viewed as having actual, not fictional, authority from the voters, the only outcome possible is the destruction of our society as government is viewed as inextricably corrupt and unresponsive to the people.

Obama's presidency is a disgrace because it was obtained through some of the worst voter fraud in the history of American politics (and yes, I'm including the record of the PRI down in Mexico in that comparison). It doesn't matter that Obama's a (insert whatever he turns out to be), he's an asshole - and a crook - and a plotting socialist bastard who wants to do away with all those quaint things we call "individual freedoms." That's enough without dragging in weirdness about his supposed religious affiliations. Truth is, I'd take a Muslim like the late Ahmed Shah Massoud of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan over Obama, Pat Robertson, or a long list of Christian politicians any day. As far as "God let Obama take over," er, He let Hitler take over in Germany, then later in Europe. He let Stalin run Russia and Mao take over China. Not exactly an endorsement.

and said : I can't comment on this man's cowardice, but as the father of a man who died in the line of duty in Iraq, I can't argue for leniency, either. It's a very sad situation, but if we're to have an Armed Forces at all, we can't just let this guy off with a rap on the knuckles and a dishonorable discharge. The Marines have a series of specifications (military criminal charges) in addition to desertion in time of war which they want to try him on. The Navy and Marine Corps should proceed with the court martial of this man, in justice to every Sailor and Marine who took the oath of service and is overseas serving or dead in the service of the country. These other servicemen, ultimately, are who this man broke faith with. In the case of the man's father - I just don't know. A grieving, frightened older parent is apt to do all sorts of things to spare a child pain. I would hope that the local authorities and Federal government go easier on the father than on the son. I can sympathize with the father because I don't go a day without wondering if I hadn't oversold my son on the military, and whether or not he'd still be with us if I had done differently. You literally don't know what it feels like to grieve for a child like that until you've gone through it. Yet, 4,000 other men and women have also died in this war for our country, and in justice to these other people's families we have to deal with the deserter and his father.
