and said : Really sub-par food. I don't eat a lot of meat and even less red meat, but I had a Big Mac a few months ago after not having one in a couple of years. I remembered it as being pretty good as far as a fast food burger was concerned. When I took my first bite I sort of went "OH!" This was NOT good stuff. The burgers are cooked ahead of time and put in a warming drawer and wind up with a bland taste. And the fries were so salty and greasy I couldn't finish them. The only thing I now-and-again eat is an egg & cheese biscuit, and even that doesn't happen even once a month.

It's been widely reported by the mainstream media that John McCain deliberately crashed his plane into North Viet Nam in order to be taken POW and later parlay the entire experience into a politocal career. What do you think?

and said : Are you NUTS? Have you ever seen the way he holds his arms? He can't straighten them because of the torture. I'm not a McCain person, but this is just stupid. Whether you think he should be president or not doesn't alter the fact that he was a hero in that war, and to say otherwise is as onerous as when the Swift Boat people tried to denegrate Kerry's heroism.

and said : I think how he voted was that this country has been in place for a very long time without an official national language. People who come to this country very often continue speaking their original language, just as your ancestors did when they first came here. But then the next generation winds up speaking that language at home and English everywhere else. Then the next generation may be able to understand Grandma & Grandpa but only be able to speak a few words of their original language, but mostly speak English. Then the next generation pretty much mostly speaks English. I guess Washington, Jefferson and the others were just a little more tolerant then you are, or maybe they were more worried about things that truly mattered.

and said : Well, you didn't really give a reasonable option for an answer. He seems to be guilty of the Vegas crimes, and it would be satisfying to hear that he's getting the book thrown at him, but that pesky old Constitution doesn't allow this crime to be judge on the basis of a crime he was acquitted of. The constitution is there to protect each of us, including a scum-bag like him. I'm glad to hear he'll have to spend time away from the golf courses for awhile.

and said : I think it comes off as a lack of respect like The Dark Lord Cheney shows. If you don't like the question just don't answer it, or change the subject, and then act like the problem is the person asking the question. What magazines and newspapers you get your news from is a reflection of where your thinking is. Do you read The Washington Times or The Washington Post? One is Right, one is Left. Or do you read both? Or do you perhaps not really read anything except your little hometown paper with the hockey scores in it? Do we REALLY want someone exactly like us? Do we? Really? I personally want someone who is a whole lot smarter than me and more up on subjects like the economy, nuclear (not nucular, at least know how to pronounce it, we've had one such idiot in the White House) defense, diplomacy, the environment, energy, etc. than I am. My knowledge is enough to discuss one or two of them well, and the rest of them superficially with someone exactly like me but certainly wouldn't qualify me to discuss the subjects with people on a national or international level. And I think her winking would go over in that market about like Bush's back rubs. Winking at Putin would be okay if her job was to "entertain" him for the evening, but has no place in a Vice President's professional persona. I keep thinking what people would say about Hillary if she pulled off such things instead of having actual knowledge about matters. She got raked across the coals for laughing, what if SHE would have winked during her debates? I just can't get it out of my head that Palin is an affront to knowledgeable women who have worked hard to know, really KNOW the subjects before getting into politics - really, to knowledgeable women AND men who have worked hard to know the subjects first. For a woman or man in ANY field to wink while carrying out business would be considered unprofessional. Why is it suddenly okay for a Vice Presidential candidate? Apparently the Republican Party has decided this country wants cute instead of substance. We'll see how right they are. We get the government we deserve. If we want better we have to demand it.

and said : The bar is set so low for Palin that basically if she comes out on the stage, doesn't fall, and puts a few coherent sentences together she will look better than she has so far. Joe has to make sure he doesn't appear too aggressive with her, or try to make her look stupid. If she bursts into tears and runs off the stage he will just look like a really bad guy. I think her answers will be what she's been schooled on in the last few weeks.
